Hockey-Club Heidelberg 1909 e.V.

The Hockey Club Heidelberg (HCH) was founded on April 15, 1909 in the “Alten Krone” in Neuenheim. Hockey found its way to Heidelberg via the English at Heidelberg College and was officially included in the school system in 1906. As the original subtitle “Association of former high school students” shows, the founding members of the HCH with their 1st chairman Hans Knüpfer were graduates of the Oberrealschule in the Kettengasse who wanted to continue playing hockey after graduating from school. Ten years later, the women were allowed to pick up a hockey stick for the first time.

The Heidelberg Fencing Club is a division of TSG Rohrbach and one of the largest fencing clubs in Baden-Württemberg. It supports its approximately 140 members in practicing epee fencing according to their ambitions, from hobby fencing to international top level. In addition to the sporting achievement, personal development is also important to us. The basis for this is our highly qualified team of trainers, who design the training in a varied and individual manner in close cooperation with the department management. Our department is characterized by the constructive and very positive training atmosphere and enormous team spirit at competitions.

Rhein-Neckar-Löwen

In 2002, TSG Kronau and TSV Baden Östringen merged. The SG Kronau/Östringen resulting from the merger is the cornerstone for the emergence of today’s Rhein-Neckar Löwen. The term “Kröstis” quickly established itself as an abbreviation and nickname of the gaming community. The Rhein-Neckar-Löwen play today in the 1st Handball Bundesliga.
